Dry containers are the most used type of container in the world: 90% of goods shipped by sea are loaded in dry containers. The 20-foot and 40-foot cargo containers are made of aluminium or steel and are suitable for all types of cargo. Aluminium containers have a slightly larger payload than steel, and steel dry containers have a slightly larger internal cube

This container type has a removable tarpaulin cover and moveable rear top rail enabling the container to be loaded from above

40` Open Top

Open top containers have an open top covered by a tarp instead of a solid roof. This enables oversized cargo such as timber and scrap metal to be loaded from the top. Open top containers normally also have end doors, like closed containers, to give flexibility for loading and unloading

A flat rack container is usually for the transportation or storage of cargo with unique dimensions. Flat racks only have sides on the short side of the container, the bulkheads, so the cargo can stick out the side of the container during transportation.

Flat racks most commonly come in 2 sizes: 20 feet and 40 feet. The choice depends on the size of the cargo. Usually the dimensions of these two types only differ in length. The width and height are often similar

An identical twin of a standard dry container, the double door container has two doors at both ends, instead of one. These containers are made from durable materials like steel or aluminum and are available as 20ft, 40ft, and 40ft high cube containers.

Double door containers are an amazing choice if you need to load two different types of goods in the same container. That means you can access them from two ends at the same time. This also makes loading, unloading, and sorting of goods easier and more flexible. It can also be repurposed as a general dry container as well by closing one of the doors permanently

Standard flatbed trailer is a common type of trailer. Although they come in several different sizes (including 24, 40, 45, 48 and 53 feet) the 48-foot flatbed trailer is the most frequently used.

Versatility is a key feature of these trailers. Often used to haul steel, construction equipment, lumber and other open-air commodities, the flatbed’s open back and sides make for easy loading and unloading via forklift or overhead crane

Just as the name suggests, refrigerated trailers (also called reefers) were designed to move any freight requiring temperature control. Their temperature control and insulated walls make them the only type of trailer that is properly suited to haul perishable items. Products like fruit, pharmaceuticals and ice cream are commonly moved using these trailers
